The virtues of the original MAXX remain intact, including its revolutionary Propagation Delay Correction mechanism, which allows precise alignment of the upper drivers in the time and phase domain. The brass alignment block typifies the level of manufacturing finesse employed in the construction of MAXX. It allows the owner to choose one of 35 discrete positions for correcting the time domain of the drivers relative to a chosen listening distance and ear height. Without the use of sophisticated test equipment, the user can easily set up MAXX Series 2 for optimum performance in a wide variety of rooms.

A new tweeter creates significant improvements in high frequency linearity and reduction of coloration and noise.

New Mid/Tweeter Crossover
A new crossover uses propietary time-jitter correcting technology first developed for the Alexandria. In the critical mid and upper midrange frequencies, the new MAXX now approaches the level of sweetness, clarity, and transparency that makes the Alexandria X-2 such a stunning achievement.

Redesigned Crossover
A redesigned bass crossover improves bass linearity and integration with the lower midrange, further reducing artifacts of time domain smearing.

New Internal Cabinet Structure
The newly sculpted upper enclosure now includes a rear port; internally, revised cabinet geometries reduce enclosure-induced colorations.

New Grill System
The MAXX 2 upper module features a new two-piece grill and diffraction pad, which reduces grill-induced reflections. All grills on the MAXX Series 2 use the Alexandria pin-styl grill hardware, making the grills more secure, consistent, and sonically inert.
