A Tribute to Dave Wilson

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of David A. Wilson II, founder of Wilson Audio. He passed away peacefully at his home in Provo, Utah on 26th May, following a long battle with cancer. He was 73.

Dave Wilson will always be remembered as one of high-end audio’s most accomplished and visionary designers. Perhaps more than any other, he defined the modern high-end loudspeaker, pushing the boundaries of engineering, technology and performance and blazing a trail for others to follow. He consistently delivered new performance benchmarks throughout his career, culminating in the mighty WAMM Master Chronosonic – his magnum opus and a fitting epitaph to his exceptional talents.

Daryl C. Wilson, Dave’s son, continues in his role as Wilson Audio’s CEO, a position he’s held since 2016. Daryl is the principal author of current, much-lauded Wilson Audio loudspeakers, including the Alexx, the Sabrina and the Yvette, as well as the new TuneTot. He also helped his father to create the WAMM Master Chronosonic. As the flame passes from one generation to the next, Daryl will ensure that Wilson Audio’s passion for incomparable loudspeaker design continues to blaze.
